Helen & Douglas House is a warm, homely place for local children living with life-limiting and terminal conditions, and their families. Based in central Oxford, they provide round-the-clock care in a comforting environment. Their hospice is filled with laughter, whilst also being a peaceful place where families can create happy memories in their last days, weeks, months or years together.
Take on a personal challenge for an incredible cause and become a Helen & Douglas House hero by running the 2026 Oxford Half Marathon in support of a local Oxfordshire children’s hospice.

receive a free running top and personalised support from our friendly event team in the lead up to the event and on the day
run as part of team with a shared connection to a beloved local cause, with the option to join our Strava team to cheer each other on
access training tips at a free track evening where you can meet other Helen & Douglas House runners before the day
enjoy a post-race reception with refreshments for you and your family and the option to receive a sports massage
stay motivated with passionate and loud cheer points along the course run by staff and volunteers from Helen & Douglas House
help your local children’s hospice to improve the lives of local terminally ill children and their families
Gemma’s Half Marathon
Gemma ran the 2025 Oxford Half Marathon in memory of her son Jago who was supported by Helen & Douglas House.
She said “Every time I was struggling I just thought of Jago and all the children and families at Helen & Douglas House and it kept me going. The Helen & Douglas House team were incredible, it really was the boost I needed to give me that last push at the end. It was an amazing day and I will remember it forever.”

Once you have your place confirmed you can choose to join Team Helen & Douglas House for free and fundraise with no minimum fundraising target. Plus you’ll receive all the same benefits as the charity runners and will be part of our team on the day.
